Te Manawa Whānau

February 23, 2022

Te Manawa Whānau is online this year…

For this year’s Te Manawa Whānau event, we invite you and your whānau to join our sandcastle building competition!!

We would love to spend time together as a whānau and as a community like we did at Takutai o Te Titi Marae last year, but we have shifted online to be safe around COVID-19.

The good news is even though we can’t all come together, you can make time with your whānau over the next two weeks to build your sand creation whenever it suits you. It’s all about coming together and connecting with Te Taiao (the natural environment). We all know being active and spending time in nature with the people we care about makes us feel great!

Competition rules:
• Your whānau may include anyone you consider family but must include at least one adult and one child
• Design and build a sandcastle with your whānau
• Your entry must include the ages and ethnicity/Iwi of everyone who helped
• Take a photo of your creation and upload it to the Facebook event

We have some really awesome prizes to give away! There are prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd and also spot prizes. Your entry needs to be in by Sunday 13th of March 2022 for judging.

We will also have a people’s choice award judged by YOU! Pop a like on your favourite sand castle! Watch this space for updates on when the winners will be announced!

Kia piki te whānau, kia piki te ora!

Te Manawa Whānau is brought to you by Kōrari the Māori Public Health team here at Ngā Kete Mātauranga Pounamu Charitable Trust.
