Rough Sleeper Housing Navigator Support Service: Fixed-term contract – one year

Ngā Kete Mātauranga Pounamu Charitable Trust is seeking a compassionate and community-focused kaimahi to deliver its Rough Sleeper Housing Navigator Support Service.

This role provides wrap-around support to individuals who are sleeping rough or experiencing housing instability in the Invercargill area. Working alongside tangata whaiora, you will help address barriers to housing and wellbeing while supporting access to sustainable accommodation and essential services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing holistic, whānau-centered support
• Preparing and supporting rough sleepers for alternative accommodation options
• Supporting access to MSD assessments and the Public Housing Register
• Connecting tangata whaiora with health, social, and community services
• Working collaboratively with community organisations and government agencies
• Advocating for positive housing and wellbeing outcomes
• Upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and supporting equity for Māori
• Holding a current full driver’s licence

This role would suit a community worker, social worker, navigator, or someone with relevant experience supporting vulnerable members of the community.

Weekly hours: 37.5 hours per week.
