Now Hiring: Addictions/Mental Health Practitioner

Ngā Kete Mātauranga Pounamu Charitable Trust (NKMP) is seeking an experienced Mental Health/Addictions Practitioner.

Our organisation has an opening for an experienced practitioner in the Mental Health/Addictions field. You will need to hold a professional registration (i.e. DAPAANZ, NZAC, SWRB, Nursing council or be eligible to apply). This is a full-time position.

The core responsibilities of the role are:

  • Clinical care: Assessment, treatment planning, risk management, and case management
  • Clinical knowledge: Skilled in behavioural change modalities and substance use treatment (specifically methamphetamine)
  • Education: Client education, group facilitation, and programme planning
  • Whanau focus: Promoting whanau/caregiver involvement in line with Māori modalities of practice

To be effective in this role you will have experience and be confident working with Māori, and have a strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, be open to further tikanga Māori learnings, have a positive attitude, be well presented and hold a current full driver’s license.
