Nga Kete Matauranga Pounamu Charitable Trust Whanau Ora navigator Sagar Khemani, who is based in Te Anau, has recently returned from Austria after competing in the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships.
Sagar was selected to compete for the Indian Senior Mens Team in the Classic Up and Down Mountain Running Championships over 15.5km. Sagar finished 114th out of 140 participants.
“It’s the biggest buzz I’ve ever had with running. The scale of the event was massive and being offered to represent your country is pretty special. I gave it my best.”
Sagar is already gearing up for the next event (2025 in Spain) and aims to continue improving.
