Ngā Kete Mātauranga Pounamu Charitable Trust is seeking a Family Group Conference Coordinator to lead our FGC work with whanau and other key professionals.

In this role, the Family Group Conference Coordinator will ensure tamariki and rangatahi have the right to participate and have their voice heard in decisions about themselves. The Coordinator will be responsible for managing the FGC within the spirit of Puao-te-Ata-tu, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the Oranga Tamariki act 1989.

The FGC Coordinator will work as a member of the Tui Ora team, in working with whanau with social needs.

Full training will be supplied to the successful applicant; however, qualifications and experience as follows are highly desirable:
• Relevant tertiary education and/or experience working in local community and iwi services and/or social work.
• A current full driver’s license.
Desired Knowledge and Experience:
• Knowledge of the Oranga Tamariki Act.
• Leadership experience and decision making in a complex environment.
• Strong facilitation, mediation, negotiation and conflict resolution experience.
• Strong relationship management skills.
• Experience working with Māori and in Māori environments.
• Can demonstrate critical thinking and reflective practice.
• Ability to write reports and plans to a high standard.
• Flexible and highly adaptable to changing priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
This role is a 37.5 hours per week, with a competitive salary.
