Hiring Now: Youth Worker

Ngā Kete Mātauranga Pounamu Charitable Trust is seeking a values-driven, empathetic and motivated Youth Worker to join our Tui Ora team and support rangatahi to grow, connect, and thrive.

The Youth Programme, launching 1 March 2026, will support transitional youth exiting Oranga Tamariki care, as well as rangatahi identified by our kaimahi who would benefit from pro-social, strengths-based support. The Youth Worker will help create safe, inclusive spaces that promote belonging, wellbeing, and positive life choices through mentoring, activities, and community connection.

Seeking:
• Experience working alongside rangatahi, particularly those facing barriers or change
• A commitment to supporting equity for Māori and upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Good organisational and time management skills
• A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to role model positive behaviours
• A current full driver’s licence
Qualifications or experience in youth work, social work, or community work are desirable, though lived experience and passion for empowering rangatahi are equally valued.
