Te Kaha ō Te Mauri Peer Social Support Kaimahi

Ngā Kete Mātauranga Pounamu Charitable Trust is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Peer Social Support Kaimahi to join Te Kaha ō Te Mauri, our new Methamphetamine Intensive Treatment Service.

This role supports tangata whaiora experiencing moderate to severe methamphetamine-related challenges by providing practical advocacy, navigation, and support to help address barriers to recovery and wellbeing.

We are seeking someone with:

• Lived experience of methamphetamine use, either personally or through supporting a family member/whānau, would be highly valued
• Experience in health, addiction, mental health, social services, community support, or advocacy
• A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and improving outcomes for Māori
• Strong cultural competence and a person-centered, strengths-based approach
• Knowledge of addiction, recovery pathways, and harm reduction principles
• Experience navigating health and social service systems
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload
• A current full driver's license

Weekly hours: 37.5
Location: 101 Dee Street, Invercargill
