Nga Kete Matauranga Pounamu Charitable Trust (NKMP) is seeking a compassionate, organised, and confident kaimahi to join our Specialist Facilitation Team.
Our team delivers Te Pae Oranga (Iwi Community Panels) and Restorative Justice. Te Pae Oranga is a community-led alternative to court action that identifies underlying causes of offending and determines outcomes to address these. Restorative Justice is a facilitated meeting between a victim and offender that enables victims to have a voice and supports offenders to understand the impact of their actions.
This role involves working with offenders, victims, support people and professionals to coordinate and facilitate restorative processes.
The desired applicant will have:
• Strong communication and facilitation skills
• The ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and in sensitive situations
• The ability to work alongside people from all walks of life
• Experience or interest in restorative practices and community wellbeing
• The ability to work in Court, Marae and community settings
• A commitment to Te Reo Maori use in the workplace
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• A full driver’s licence
Full training will be provided. This is a part-time position (0.5 FTE).
