Te Whare Hāpai Tangata Reintegration Service

Te Whare Hāpai Tangata Reintegration Service supports young men to explore their identity, develop the capacities needed to live a good life and desist from offending.

Te Whare Hāpai Tangata Reintegration Service is made up of two sections: Rehabilitation – An education programme facilitated by Corrections and Te Whare Hāpai Tangata Reintegration Service – An intensive mentoring coach programme facilitated by Nga Kete Matauranga Pounamu Charitable Trust.

The programme, aimed at men aged 18-24, supports Rangatahi to move to wellbeing free from recidivist offending.

The Programme

  • There are individual and supporter sessions with a Probation Officer and whānau
  • The programme is based on Te Whare Tapa Whā and the six pillars of reintegration and underpinned by the principles of Hōkai Rangi.
  • MENTORING Breaking cycles, overcoming barriers, pathway setting, achieving goals
  • COACHING General support and information, to role model, to inspire and guide
  • ELA DAYS Experiential learning activities – enhancing listening, sharing, team work and self-discipline
  • OUR MAIN AREAS OF FOCUS ARE:
